Libyan media outlets have reported that Saif al-Islam Gaddafi has been killed near the city of Zintan in western Libya. According to the reports, he was attacked and killed by four individuals, although no further details about the incident or the attackers were immediately available.
Adviser and Lawyer Confirm Death
The news was confirmed by Abdullah Othman, Saif al-Islam’s political adviser, who acknowledged the death in a brief Facebook post without elaborating on how it occurred or who was responsible. His French lawyer, Marcel Ceccaldi, also confirmed the killing to AFP, saying the identities of the assailants remain unknown. Ceccaldi added that he had been warned by one of Gaddafi’s close associates around ten days earlier that there were concerns about his security.
