Russia launched 142 drones overnight in a massive assault on Ukraine, the Air Force announced on Telegram.
Explosions shook Kherson, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipro during the strikes, officials reported.
Sixteen drones hit ten sites, while Ukrainian defenses downed 126 drones.
In Kherson, local media confirmed two deaths and 14 injuries.
The strikes damaged nine houses, schools, medical centers, an administrative building, a gas station, and multiple cars.
Odesa reported one injury, with Chornomorsk suffering the worst destruction.
Governor Oleg Kiper said the attack crippled energy facilities, cutting power for 29,000 people.
He added that emergency teams began restoration, using generators for critical infrastructure.
This assault marked Russia’s third large-scale strike against Ukraine within a week.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia proves the war will not stop without global pressure.
Moscow Suffers Heavy Casualties in Donetsk
Zelenskyy reported Russian forces took severe losses near Pokrovsk, where Moscow focuses its strongest assault.
He confirmed Ukrainian units continued operations in Donetsk and systematically destroyed enemy troops.
Zelenskyy said Russian casualties exceeded 290,000 killed or seriously injured in the first eight months of the year.
Kyiv Links Attacks to Global Inaction
Zelenskyy argued Russia’s repeated strikes show the Kremlin acts without fear of global consequences.
He urged international partners to maintain pressure and stop Moscow from prolonging the conflict.
The president said Ukraine’s resistance would continue despite relentless assaults and destruction.
