Erling Haaland once again delivered for Manchester City, scoring twice in a 3-1 win over Bournemouth that lifted Pep Guardiola’s side to second in the Premier League table.
The Norwegian striker took full advantage of Andoni Iraola’s high defensive line, striking twice in the first half to take his league tally to 13 goals this season and 98 in 107 Premier League appearances. Bournemouth briefly drew level through Tyler Adams after a goalkeeping error from Gianluigi Donnarumma, but City quickly regained control.
Youngster Nico O’Reilly sealed the victory after the break, converting from a clever Phil Foden assist to cap off a dominant performance. Guardiola substituted Haaland to a standing ovation late on as City comfortably saw out their sixth league win of the campaign.
The result moves City to 19 points, six behind leaders Arsenal, while Bournemouth’s struggles continue despite a spirited display.
